• Mind My Brains, Darling! (poster by Jeremy Hodges)

Set in Britain in 1979, Mind My Brains, Darling! follows the ups and downs of family life with the Worthingtons – a typical family with a mum, dad, two kids and a grandfather. Typical that is, for a peri-apocalyptic society ravaged by war and zombies for the past 4 years. Oh, and the dad is a Zombie.

Indiegogo.com campaign for 'Mind My Brains, Darling!' a huge success

YAY! We did it! Our Indiegogo campaign for ‘Mind My Brains, Darling!’ has ended and is a huge success! THANK YOU!!

After the excitement of reaching (and actually exceeding!) the goal we are forging ahead. This weekend we’ve been recording the exclusive, extra video for funders who donated $10 or more – and that’s a lot of you! Hopefully it will be completed and up for you later in the week.

And there’s more….

How about a part in ‘Mind My Brains, Darling!’?

We know that many people would love to have a chance to contribute to a webseries if they could and see their names in the credits. So we’re launching a competition that will give you the chance to do just that! And you don’t even need to leave your house….

What we want:

A short (no more than 45 seconds) audio clip of you reading the MOST BORING RADIO ANNOUNCEMENT you can think of. In a POSH BRITISH ACCENT. You DO NOT have to be BRITISH to take part, we want to hear from people from all over the world, because this competition is open to you wherever you are. ANYONE can enter! :)

UPDATE: a FAKE British accent is FINE! Have a go no matter how bad you think it is…but do at least try :)

If you’re not sure what we mean then go and have a listen to Lord Poncenby announce the ‘Turning Left at Albuquerque’ podcast chapters.

You can announce any sort of program you like but you need to start your audio with these words:

“And now British Radioweb Entertainment Worldwide is proud to present…..” then the name of the show and short description. Then fill the remaining seconds (if any) with a portion of the program. Remember…BORING!!

Examples of programs you might announce:

Cooking with offal, Madame Le Croix’s Guide to Etiquette and Manners, This week in your Victory Garden….the possibilities are endless, fire up your imaginations! If you want to reference things from the 70′s that is fine, but please no trademarks, slander or bad language (we have delicate ears).

There will be THREE WINNERS, to be announced two weeks after the competition ends.

CLOSING DATE is MONDAY 13 DECEMBER 2010.

Send your submissions to HigletFilms@gmail.com with the subject line “Mind My Brains Radio Announcement Competition”, or you can click below:

HigletFilms@gmail.com

By sending in a submission you are agreeing:

  • to let us use your clip in any way we want
  • you have not used copyrighted material without the express permission of the owner
  • that we will not pay you (now or in the future)
  • that the judges decision is final

If your clip is chosen we will:

  • edit it to fit the episode
  • give you full credits at the end of the episode

Please ensure the following before you send us an entry:

  • the clip is no more than 45 seconds long
  • mp3 format only
  • there is no music or sound effects (we only want your voice)
  • you have read and understand the submission agreement

We can’t wait to hear what you come up with!

ONE LAST THING…..we didn’t want to make following us on Facebook or Twitter a part of the competition because not everyone uses them and we want as many people to enter as possible. BUT…please help us spread the word by tweeting and linking on Facebook if you can. Thanks!
