• Mind My Brains, Darling! (poster by Jeremy Hodges)

Set in Britain in 1979, Mind My Brains, Darling! follows the ups and downs of family life with the Worthingtons – a typical family with a mum, dad, two kids and a grandfather. Typical that is, for a peri-apocalyptic society ravaged by war and zombies for the past 4 years. Oh, and the dad is a Zombie.

One week later – thank yous and reflections

fundraising, news, Webseries

Mind My Brains, Darling! on indiegogo

So then. That happened.

Last Monday we launched our funding drive on Indiegogo for “Mind My Brains, Darling!”, our new webseries. We hoped in the first week that a few people would look at the page, watch the videos, spread the link and then think about donating some cash to help us get production under way.

Within hours we had had our first funder and people were spreading the words and links through Twitter, Facebook and Friendfeed. We were mentioned on TubeFilter, IndieIntertube and Webseries Today and had emails from people from all over the globe. When I tweeted and asked if people would like our Facebook page so we could get a custom URL we reached  the needed 25 within a few hours. You can now find us at http://www.facebook.com/HigletFilms.

From the very bottom of our hearts we want to thank all of you who have helped to spread the news, contributed hard-earned money and responded with so much enthusiasm. We’ve been blown away by your kindness and interest. In a week we have raised nearly 70 % of our total. We can now get to work constructing the sets and mapping out production. There is still a long way to go but your support helps immeasurably. It’s very exciting!

Next Steps

Next week we will be filming the exclusive extra for people who have funded $10 or more, which will feature a new character. More on that soon. We think you’ll like it :)
